På en reise til Cinque Terre i Italia kom jeg over en gammel karusell i Monterosso al Mare. En ung gutt prøvde å løpe om kapp med karusellen der den gikk rundt og rundt. Jeg ble facinert av dette motivet og assosiasjonene det skapte til selve livet. Denne karusellen dukker stadig opp i drømmene mine når livet blir for hektisk - løper rundt og rundt som fanget på en slags uendelig spiral som kunne vært konstruert av MC Echer.

Painted for the exhibition “Lucid Dreaming”
On a trip to the Cinque Terre in Italy, I came across an old carousel in Monterosso al Mare. A young boy tried to race with the carousel as it went around and around. I was fascinated by this motif and the associations it created to life itself. This carousel keeps popping up in my dreams when life gets too hectic - running around and around like caught on a kind of infinite spiral that could have been constructed by MC Echer.
